Greg Jackson, on “Beatdown,” discussing whether Jon Jones is the best 205-pound fighter ever:
“I’m pretty biased, so of course I think that. He’s my guy, so you’ve got to take my opinion with a grain of salt, but I think he’s on his way not just to doing that but hopefully, pound-for-pound, being the greatest mixed martial artist ever. He’s got some hard company there of course to prove, but that I think is his goal and it’s certainly my goal in helping him there. … He’s got to rematch [Lyoto] Machida at some point. [Alexander] Gustafsson’s so tough. He’s got a lot of tough tests in front of him. It’s not like it’s a done deal yet, and then if he wants to go up to heavyweight, that’s what he wants to do. My job isn’t to guide his career as much as it is just to figure out the puzzles in front of us. Whatever he comes with -- heavyweight, stays at 205 -- it doesn’t matter to me. Just give me the parameters to work him and let me go to work.”
