Greg Jackson on Anderson Silva’s Loss to Chris Weidman: It’s a Game of Inches
Greg Jackson, on “Beatdown,”
discussing Anderson
Silva’s loss to Chris
Weidman:
“It’s a game of inches. It really is. Anderson is used to being able to just slip that much out of the way of those punches. Everybody makes mistakes, and as he was backing out to his right there, it was literally another inch and a half and he would have been free. You just miscalculate. That’s a very dangerous style, going back on your heels … . It’s dangerous to play that game, but Anderson is usually so good that he can play those angles and still be safe. He got caught for an inch or two, and that happens. That’s part of the game.”
