Podcast: Anthony Pettis, 'King Mo'

TJ De Santis and Jeff Sherwood returned to The Sherdog Radio Network Monday for another edition of “Beatdown.” Joining them were mixed martial artists and former champions, Anthony Pettis and Muhammed Lawal.

Fresh off his “Knockout of the Night” winning performance at the UFC on Fox 6, Pettis joined TJ and Jeff to talk about his stoppage of Donald Cerrone. Pettis breaks down the kick that stopped the Greg Jackson product, his unorthodox style of striking and how he has changed mentally since his loss to Clay Guida. “Showtime” also chats about who he feels will win between champion Benson Henderson and Gilbert Melendez, and if he truly believes he is going to fight the winner of that bout next.

It’s been a long road back to active competition for Lawal. “King Mo” joined “Beatdown” to discuss his successful Bellator MMA debut. The former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion recounts his battle with staph infection, how it returned to his knee in October and how it felt to return to the cage after a year away. Lawal also shares his thoughts on if the Bellator tournament is honestly the “toughest tournament” in sports.
