RFA 41 Gets New Headliner After UFC Signs Joseph Gigliotti
With the UFC recently signing middleweight contender Joseph
Gigliotti, Resurrection Fighting Alliance was forced to alter
its main event for RFA 41, which takes place July 29 at Cowboys
Dancehall in San Antonio, Texas.
With Gigliotti -- who doesn’t have an exact Octagon debut set -- bolting for the big time, the new main event for the marquee will be a 185-pound encounter between Josh Clark and Trevin Giles.
Clark gained some notoriety when he was cast on “The Ultimate
Fighter” Season 19. While on the show, the Kentuckian submitted
John
Poppie before dropping a majority decision to eventual season
winner Corey
Anderson at light heavyweight.
The unbeaten Giles has been on a tear since turning pro, beating every man he’s faced by either submission or knockout. The Texan is aiming to keep things going in the right direction against Clark, who will pose as the biggest test of his career.
The RFA 41 co-feature will see featherweight contender Jamall Emmers taking on Rivaldo Junior. The full card, as well as the preliminary bouts, will be announced soon. RFA 41 will be televised live on AXS TV beginning at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
