In 2013, Bellator MMA held Bellator 100 in Phoenix, Arizona.

In the main event, Douglas Lima knocked out Ben Saunders via head kick in the second round. In Lima’s next fight, he would fight and win the vacant welterweight title. For Saunders, his next fight would be at UFC Fight Night 49, where he returned to the Las Vegas-based promotion and scored a submission victory over Chris Heatherly via omoplata.

Bellator 100 also saw War Machine submit Vaughan Anderson by rear-naked choke in the second round and Ron Keslar defeat Luis Melo by split decision. On the prelims, Bubba Jenkins lost by TKO to LaRue Burley while Liam McGeary picked up a 27-second knockout win against Beau Tribolet.
