Preview: PFL Europe 2024 Finals

The Rest

Catchweight

Patrick Habirora (4-0, 1-0 PFL) vs. Catalin Safta (4-2, 0-0 PFL): The undefeated Habirora hopes to improve to 5-0 against Safta, who has not fought since September 2023. Habirora turned pro this year as a lightweight and wants to stay active, thus the 165-catchweight limit. Could this be a mistake in his young career?

Heavyweight

Mickael Groguhe (5-2, 0-1 PFL) vs. Mamadou Lamine Sene (5-7, 0-0 PFL): Groguhe was knocked out in the first round at PFL Europe 1 in March but has since turned around his fortune with first-round TKO and second-round submission wins. He’ll be looking a highlight-reel finish against Sene, an opponent from Senegal who has been knocked out six times in his seven defeats.

Featherweight

Mathys Duragrin (3-0, 0-0 PFL) vs. Yassin Chtatou (5-4, 0-1 PFL): A rising prospect in Duragin looks to improve to 4-0 against the experienced Chtatou, who has been submitted three times in four losses.

Heavyweight

Badr Medkouri (7-2, 0-0 PFL) vs. Karrar Hammodi (8-6, 0-0 PFL): Coming into the year on a two-fight losing streak, Medkouri turned things around in 2024 with three straight stoppages. He’ll look to close the year out with a fourth against Hammodi, a Paris native who is also riding a three-fight winning streak.

Bantamweight

Mehdi Saadi (6-2, 0-0 PFL) vs. Mahio Campanella (6-1, 0-0 PFL): Two rising French bantamweights put it all on the line. Saadi has won on impressive circuits like UAE Warriors and has finished all his wins. Campanella comes in on a three-fight first-round finish streak. This could be a sleeper pick for “Fight of the Night.”

Welterweight

Atilla Kobas (2-1, 0-0 PFL) vs. Salvo Giudice (0-0, 0-0 PFL): Kobas returned from a three-year hiatus in November but looked impressive in his first-round knockout victory and hopes to spoil Giudice’s pro debut. Giudice may lack pro experience, but the French welterweight had a long and extensive amateur career with a record of 12-9.

Welterweight

Eoin Sheridan (1-0, 0-0 PFL) vs. Brice Belghazi (1-0, 0-0 PFL): Somebody’s “0” has to go in this clash at 170 pounds. Sheridan hails from Ireland and comes out of the famed SBG Ireland camp but hasn’t fought since September 23. Belghazi finished off his first victim with a triangle armbar in February.

Lightweight

Claudio Pacella (4-2, 1-1 PFL) vs. Oscar Ownsworth (8-3-1, 1-0 PFL): Ownsworth is a battle-tested lightweight, having fought in Bellator MMA and Cage Warriors Fighting Championship. He has solid power and a sturdy chin but has been submitted twice in his career. Italy’s Pacella fights out of SBG Ireland and carries a 75% knockout rate into one of the toughest fights of his career.
