Pereira, 37, enters the cage with a five-fight winning streak in tow. He last saw action at UFC 307, where he battered Khalil Rountree to a fourth-round technical knockout on Oct. 5. Pereira holds a 9-1 record across his 10 appearances in the UFC, having lost only to archrival Israel Adesanya. Ankalaev, meanwhile, has rattled off back-to-back victories against Johnny Walker and Aleksandar Rakic. He fought for the then-vacant light heavyweight title in 2022, only to see the opportunity slip through his fingers in a split draw with Jan Blachowicz. Ankalaev has not lost in almost seven years.
