The Ultimate Fighting Championship has removed Anderson Silva from his job as a coach on “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 4” following a request from the Nevada Athletic Commission.

According to a UFC release issued Monday, the NAC “requested that Silva cease participation in the series.” The former middleweight champion was temporarily suspended by the sanctioning body earlier this month when it was revealed that a Jan. 9 drug test came back positive for two anabolic steroids. Silva has roundly denied the charges, and the UFC stated in its release that the organization “will continue to support him as this process unfolds.”

Silva was set to coach opposite countryman Mauricio “Shogun” Rua on the reality show, which began filming in Las Vegas on Feb. 2. The UFC has replaced “The Spider” with his longtime friend and training partner Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira. Nogueira was last seen in April 2014, when he suffered a knockout loss to Roy Nelson in Abu Dhabi. The 38-year-old heavyweight veteran recently stated that he hopes to fight twice more in 2015 before retiring from MMA. Nogueira’s twin brother, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira will serve as an assistant coach on “TUF: Brazil 4.”
