UFC Reveals Early 2023 Event Slate, Includes Stop in San Antonio

In the next few months, the Ultimate Fighting Championship is venturing out beyond the walls of the UFC Apex more and more.

At the end of the UFC 282 press conference on Thursday, the organization announced the majority of its fight card lineup from January to March 2023. Notably, the promotion did not mention a jaunt to South Korea on Feb. 4 that already has several fights on the books. Three of the first six UFC events of next year will go down in Las Vegas, with three shows at the UFC Apex on Jan. 14, Feb. 18 and Feb. 25. The others will be international, with Rio de Janeiro and Perth, Australia, already confirmed.

The UFC formalized the date and location of UFC 285 in its announcement as well, which will take place on March 4 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The following week, the promotion will remain in Las Vegas, but it will take to a venue it has never staged a fight card: The Theater at Virgin Hotels. It will be the first UFC card held in the “Fight Capital of the World” not at the UFC Apex or T-Mobile Arena since the finale of the 26th season of “The Ultimate Fighter,” which went down at the Park Theater in December 2017.

Following that new Vegas locale, the organization will return to London for the recently released UFC 286 show on March 18. Although it was discussed previously that a pay-per-view offering in London could lay claim to a soccer stadium, it will instead post up in its familiar venue of the O2 Arena. Finally, March 25 will see a UFC Fight Night event inside of the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. It will be the first UFC card in this south Texas city since UFC on ESPN 4, which went down in July 2019.
