UFC on Fox 6 Bonuses: Demetrious Johnson, John Dodson, Anthony Pettis, Ryan Bader Net $50,000

Four men took home an extra $50,000 at Chicago’s United Center on Saturday night, as Ryan Bader, Anthony Pettis, Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson all earned post-fight bonuses at UFC on Fox 6.

Bader snatched “Submission of the Night” with his 50-second finish of Vladimir Matyushenko, while Pettis’ stoppage of Donald Cerrone earned the former WEC titlist “Knockout of the Night” honors. Johnson and Dodson shared “Fight of the Night” for their five-round flyweight title main event.

Johnson retained his belt in that competitive contest, earning scores of 48-47 (twice) and 49-46 from the cageside judges. Though “Mighty Mouse” had to pick himself up off the canvas twice in round two thanks to Dodson’s heavy left hand, the champion nevertheless poured it on when it mattered most, winning the championship rounds to secure the victory.

Pettis (Pictured, file photo) looked one step ahead of Cerrone from the get-go in their lightweight confrontation, hurting the “Cowboy” to the body before landing a springboard knee off the cage reminiscent of his famous “showtime kick.” The Roufusport rep ended the bout shortly thereafter, catching Cerrone with a nasty liver kick that caused him to double over and left him exposed to flurry of fight-ending ground-and-pound.

Earlier in the evening, Bader wasted no time in taking out the well-traveled “Janitor,” catching Matyushenko with a blunt left hook that put the ex-IFL king on the mat. “Darth” immediately pounced and grabbed a front headlock, applying an arm-in guillotine choke to earn the fastest submission victory in the history of the UFC light heavyweight division.
