Undefeated Niko Price Subs in For Sabah Homasi Versus Brandon Thatch at UFC 207 on Dec. 30
Brandon Thatch has a new opponent for UFC 207 and things certainly haven’t gotten any easier for “Rukus.”
The Ultimate Fighting Championship has announced that Thatch’s original opponent, Sabah Homasi, has been forced out of his slated Dec. 30 contest with Thatch at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for undisclosed reasons. In his stead, Thatch will now meet undefeated American Top Team Cape Coral product Niko Price.
The 31-year-old Thatch has lost three straight and his UFC tenure likely hangs in the balance at UFC 207. The Colorado native started his Octagon career with a pair of impressive knockout finishes in 2013, stopping Justin Edwards and Paulo Thiago in less than four minutes combined. Since then, Thatch has suffered a litany of injuries and dropped three straight bouts -- all by submission -- to Benson Henderson, Gunnar Nelson and Siyar Bahadurzada.
Price, 27, has racked up an 8-0 record competing exclusively for Florida-based Fight Time Promotions. “The Hybrid” last saw action on Aug. 12, earning a unanimous decision over Willie Hosch.
UFC 207 is headlined by a women’s bantamweight title clash between Amanda Nunes and returning Ronda Rousey and also features a men’s 135-pound championship bout pitting Dominick Cruz against undefeated puncher Cody Garbrandt.
