Martin Vettori on Karl Roberson: ‘I Will Fu-king Hurt Him For Sure'

The animosity between Marvin Vettori and Karl Roberson went viral last month after the pair nearly came to blows in a Jacksonville, Florida, hotel lobby. The cause of the confrontation was a failed weight-cut by Roberson that sidelined their matchup the day before they were set to step into the Octagon. Afterwards, “Baby K” called the Italian’s actions that day “childish” and a “bitch move.” Although Vettori certainly wants to put a hurting on the New Jersey native on Saturday night, he does not plan to let his anger get the best of him.

“This would be a lack of intelligence in fighting. And you won’t see that from me,” Vettori told Sherdog. “I want to hurt him, but let’s not forget the way I want to hurt him the most is [by] clearly winning. Winning dominantly. I won’t let anything fool me, but I will hurt him. I will fu*king hurt him for sure. And he can say whatever he wants. I think what is childish is not making it to the fight. Missing weight. This is childish. Saying keep that same energy and all that bullsh*t and not showing up. That’s childish. And those are facts, not just talking.”

In his conversation with Sherdog, “The Italian Dream” went in-depth on the public, verbal dustup between him and Roberson in May, as well as the reasoning for his frustrations in the moment.
