Reinier De Ridder Aims for First-Round Finish of Anatoly Malykhin at One on Prime Video 5

“The Dutch Knight” is adding even more tools to his already extensive offensive arsenal.

One Championship two-division titleholder Reinier de Ridder is making his Circle return as he puts his light heavyweight title on the line against Anatoly Malykhin in the upcoming One on Prime Video 5 headliner. De Ridder (16-0, 7-0 One) will attempt to notch his first 225-pound championship defense after capturing the belt thanks to a dominant performance over Aung La N Sang at One on TNT 4. Since then, the ONE phenomenon has defended his second belt, the middleweight championship, twice with submission victories over Kiamrian Abbasov and Vitaly Bigdash in February and July, respectively. Now, De Ridder aims to showcase his impressive Brazilian jiu-jitsu background against interim heavyweight titleholder Malykhin again, but “The Dutch Knight” is also teasing that some surprises might come next. In his latest training camp, De Ridder improved his striking game and might show some tricks of the notorious Dutch kickboxing school.

“I'm really honing in on all aspects of my game. I've been dropping some training partners to the body with some knees and hooks to the body. I'll be a bit dangerous there, but I'm looking to represent Brazilian jiu-jitsu, of course. I finished this friend in the first round, halfway through the first, so I'll give [Malykhin] to the end of the first round.”
