Seven-plus years have passed since Lyoto Machida wound up on the wrong side of a unanimous decision against Phil Davis in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Now, he gets another crack at “Mr. Wonderful” in a rematch that could decide the No. 1 contender for the Bellator MMA light heavyweight crown.

A winner in four of his past five outings, Machida will battle the Alliance MMA export in the Bellator 245 main event on Friday at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. “The Dragon” owns a 2-1 mark in Bellator, his victories over Rafael Carvalho and Chael Sonnen offset by a contentious split decision defeat to Gegard Mousasi. Davis, meanwhile, enters the cage on the strength of back-to-back wins over Liam McGeary and Karl Albrektsson, having finished both men in the third round.

As final preparations are made for the Davis-Machida sequel, a look at some of the numbers that have accompanied them to this point:

35: Years of age for Davis, who was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on Sept. 25, 1984.

31: Takedowns completed by Davis as a member of the UFC roster, tying him with Matt Hamill for seventh on the promotion’s all-time list for light heavyweights. They trail Corey Anderson (53), Rashad Evans (50), Ryan Bader (46), Jon Jones (42), Patrick Cummins (35) and Tito Ortiz (33).

232: Days spent by Davis as a Bellator champion. “Mr. Wonderful” captured the light heavyweight title on Nov. 4, 2016 and relinquished it on June 24, 2017. It ranks as the shortest reign at 205 pounds in the promotion’s history.

.777: Cumulative winning percentage between the four men—Bader (twice), Evans, Anthony Johnson and Vadim Nemkov—who have defeated Davis.

5: Submission wins on the Davis resume. The four-time NCAA All-American wrestler dismissed David Baggett with a rear-naked choke under the Ultimate Cage Fighting Challenge banner on June 27, 2009, took care of Alexander Gustafsson with an anaconda choke at UFC 112 on April 10, 2010, disposed of Tim Boetsch with a kimura at UFC 123 on Nov. 20, 2010, throttled Wagner Prado with an anaconda choke at UFC 153 on Oct. 13, 2012 and subdued Emanuel Newton with a kimura at Bellator 142 on Sept. 19, 2015.

42: Years of age for Machida, who was born in Salvador, Brazil, on May 30, 1978.

7: Machida victories over former UFC champions. “The Dragon” has defeated Ortiz, Evans, Rich Franklin, B.J. Penn, Mauricio Rua, Randy Couture and Vitor Belfort. Those wins account for more than a quarter of Machida’s career total (26).

62: Seconds needed by Machida to cut down C.B. Dollaway with a body kick and follow-up punches in the UFC Fight Night 58 headliner in December 2014. It remains the fastest finish of his 35-fight career.

2: Submission losses on the Machida ledger. He lost consciousness in the throes of a standing guillotine choke from the aforementioned Jones at UFC 140 in 2011 and tapped to a rear-naked choke from Luke Rockhold at UFC on Fox 15 in 2015.

11: Knockdowns landed by Machida as a UFC light heavyweight. Only Rua (14) and Chuck Liddell (14) have more at 205 pounds.
