After patiently biding his time, Rozenstruik stopped Augusto Sakai with left hook-right hand combination and follow-up punches 4:59 into the opening round of their UFC Fight Night 189 headlining encounter at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Saturday night. Rozenstruik now has 11 KO/TKO victories on his professional mixed martial arts resume.

Here is a by-the-numbers look at UFC Fight Night 189, with statistics courtesy of UFCStats.com.

16: Significant strikes landed by Rozenstruik. Sakai, meanwhile, landed just three in 4:59 of Octagon time.

2: UFC victories for Rozenstruik in which he has ended a bout with five seconds or less remaining in a round. The first such victory occurred 4:56 into Round 5 of a UFC on ESPN 7 headlining encounter against Alistair Overeem in December 2019.

8: First-round stoppages for Rozenstruik. In UFC competition, “Bigi Boi” has finished Sakai, Andrei Arlovski and Allen Crowder inside of a round.

5: Consecutive victories for Marcin Tybura, tying him with Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane for the longest active winning streak in the UFC’s heavyweight division. Tybura defeated Walt Harris via technical knockout 4:06 into the opening round.

19: Signficant strikes by which Harris outlanded Tybura. “The Big Ticket” had his Polish foe reeling in the bout’s opening moments, but things went downhill for Harris once he was taken to the canvas.

59: Total strikes landed by Tybura. By comparison, Harris landed 23 total strikes. Tybura ended the bout with a steady stream of punches from back mount.

225: Combined significant strikes landed by Santiago Ponzinibbio (121) and Miguel Baeza (104) in a “Fight of the Year” contender at welterweight. Ponzinibbio rallied over the course of the second half of the bout to win a unanimous decision.

41: Combined significant strike advantage for Ponzinibbio in Rounds 2 and 3.

98: Significant head strikes landed by Ponzinibbio. By comparison, Baeza landed 36 significant strikes to the head.

44: Significant leg strikes landed by Baeza. Twenty of those came in Round 1, when the MMA Masters product appeared to hinder his opponent’s movement with a steady attack of low kicks.

5: UFC victories for Montana De La Rosa, who defeated Ariane Lipski via second-round technical knockout in a featured 125-pound bout. That ties her with Joanne Calderwood and Lauren Murphy for the fourth most in the history of the flyweight division. Only Valentina Shevchenko (seven), Katlyn Chookagian (seven) and Gillian Robertson (six) have won more at 125 pounds.

4: Finishes at 125 pounds for De La Rosa, who earned the first KO/TKO victory of her pro career on Saturday night. That ties her with Shevchenko for the second most finishes in the history of the women’s 125-pound division. Only Robertson (five) has more.

35: Significant strike deficit for Ilir Latifi in a split-decision triumph over Tanner Boser at heavyweight. That is the second greatest deficit for a UFC heavyweight in victory behind only Arjan Singh Bhullar, who was outlanded by 40 significant strikes in a victory over Juan Adams at UFC Fight Night 151.

6:17: Total control time for Latifi in Rounds 1 and 3, when he landed one takedown apiece. Boser, meanwhile, held a 34-to-6 edge in significant strikes in the second frame, when he was on the verge of finishing his opponent.

13: Unofficial media scorecards, of the 14 tracked by MMADecisions.com, that awarded the featherweight clash between Makwan Amirkhani and Kamuela Kirk to Amirkhani. All three cageside judges, however, submitted tallies in favor of Kirk.
