Sherdog’s Official Mixed Martial Arts Rankings

Ilia Topuria’s time may have arrived in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s featherweight division.

“El Matador” was in peak form in the UFC on ABC 5 headliner, as he outstruck Josh Emmett for five rounds en route to a lopsided unanimous decision triumph at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday afternoon. Topuria is positioned to be a big star in Spain as a result of his success, and his undefeated record—which includes six wins in UFC competition—has him on the verge of big things at 145 pounds. Thanks to his victory over Emmett, a former interim title challenger, Topuria climbs all the way to No. 5 in Sherdog’s latest divisional rankings.

Topuria wasn’t the only one making a move at UFC on ABC 5. In the card’s co-main event, Maycee Barber garnered her fifth consecutive promotional triumph in impressive fashion, finishing Amanda Ribas with a barrage of ground-and-pound 3:42 into the second round of their flyweight encounter. Not only is it Barber’s first finish in UFC competition since 2019, but it allows “The Future” to climb from 15th to 11th in the female flyweight poll.

Elsewhere, Olivier Aubin-Mercier continued his march toward a second consecutive Professional Fighters League championship, as he knocked out Anthony Romero in the third round of their clash on Friday night at Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta. “The Canadian Gangster” has won eight consecutive fights since parting ways with the UFC and climbs from No. 13 in the lightweight rankings. Finally, Tabatha Ricci earned her fourth consecutive triumph by outpointing Gillian Robertson on the UFC on ABC 5 prelims. That allows “Baby Shark” to maintain her No. 15 ranking at 115 pounds.
