Renan Ferreira Doesn’t Want to Rush a Finish in the PFL Playoffs

Even though Renan Ferreira is known for being a quick finisher, he won’t rush and risk anything in his upcoming Professional Fighters League assignment—unless the opportunity arises.

Ahead of his clash with Maurice Greene on Aug. 18, Ferreira (10-3, 3NC; 4-2, 3NC PFL) feels confident 2023 will be his year. “Problema” already reached the PFL playoffs last year, but lost to Ante Delija, who went on to become champion. This year, things seem to have taken a different direction for Ferreira, who has made several adjustments in his professional life. Ferreira confessed he wasn't fazed by Greene training with current Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight titleholder Jon Jones, as Ferreira focuses on his opponent's performance inside the cage rather than his training partners. The Brazilian aims to take each step one at a time but acknowledges that winning the PFL championship would be life-changing for him and his family. When asked about his fight prediction, Ferreira mentioned that while he's known for quick finishes, this is not the Regular Season, and he might take his time. However, if an opportunity for a knockout or submission arises, he will seize it.

“I'm a fast finisher, as you know, but this is not a Regular Season fight. There's no rush for points, so I can take my time. That said, if I smell blood, if I see the opportunity for a knockout or submission, you best believe I'm going for it.”
